Edmonton...Public inquiries held under the Fatality Inquiries Act are limited to establishing the cause, manner, time, place and circumstances of death, as well as the identity of the deceased. The judge may make recommendations on the prevention of similar occurrences but is prohibited, under the act, from making findings of legal responsibility.

Edmonton

	On March 11, 2005, Daniel Lippa was holding a knife and advancing toward a police officer when he was shot.

March 2, 2007	PERRY, Ronald Ashley, 28, Edmonton 9:30 a.m., Edmonton Provincial Court Judge F.E. LeReverend
	On March 19, 2004, Ronald Perry was arrested for strange and violent behaviour. In an effort to restrain him he was electronically stunned multiple times by police. After being transported to the hospital he suffered cardiac arrest and died on March 23, 2004.

Stony Plain

	On September 28, 2005, L.S. was being transported to his group home when he attempted to jump from the moving vehicle but was prevented. When the vehicle was stopped he ran onto the highway and was hit by a truck.

** The Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act prohibits publishing the name of the child.

March 9, 2007	JABS, Jarrett, 21, Drumheller Correctional Institution 2:00 p.m., Drumheller Provincial Court Judge F.L. Maloney
	On November 13, 2001, inmate Jarrett Jabs was the victim of blunt cranial trauma and a stab wound to the neck by other inmates.

Calgary

March 12-23, 2007	CHEEMA, Harjinder Singh 9:30 a.m., Calgary Provincial Court Judge S.A. Hamilton
	On January 21, 2005, Harjinder Cheema was shot after challenging a police officer with a knife.

Edmonton

March 13-30, 200 7	WINTERMUTE, Dane Craig, 42, Edmonton 9:30 a.m., Edmonton Provincial Court Judge M.G. Allen
	On April 21, 2004, Dane Wintermute was the pilot and lone occupant of a Cessna aircraft which crashed near Josephburg, Alberta. Continuation.

March 20-30, 2007	LIPPA, Daniel Peter, 29, Edmonton 9:30 a.m., Edmonton Provincial Court Judge E.A. Johnson
	Daniel Lippa was holding a knife and advancing toward a police officer when he was shot. He was transported to the Royal Alexandra Hospital where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room.
